Phoenicia in Zarahemla: A New Year's Journey of Discovery
Introduction:
Please join us in 2024 on a groundbreaking mission with the Heartland Research Group as we delve into the mysteries of Zarahemla, a city steeped in history and legend. Join us in the pursuit of knowledge and adventure as we explore the remnants of Zarahemla's past, offering you a unique opportunity to be part of an archaeological quest.
The Tale of Ash and Soot:
Drawing inspiration from the Old Testament's account of Nebuchadnezzar II's conquest of Jerusalem in 586 BC, our journey takes a fascinating turn. The ashes and soot from this historical event connect to Zarahemla, adding intrigue with Prince Mulek's escape from Jerusalem to Zarahemla during that period.
The Search in Jerusalem:
While archaeologists in Jerusalem unearth evidence of the Babylonian burning of the First Temple, our focus remains on Zarahemla. The city's rich history, as detailed in the Book of Mormon, drives our quest for discovery.
Zarahemla's Proposed Location:
Based on research and the analysis of Alma Chapter 2, Zarahemla is believed to be located in Montrose, Iowa, along the west bank of the Mississippi River. Explore our video report for an in-depth exploration of our findings.

Previous Expeditions:
With four successful expeditions, we've utilized advanced SENSYS technology, conducting magnetometer and electromagnetic surveys. Initial results revealed magnetic signatures of ancient fires, suggesting a thriving population in Zarahemla 2,000 years ago.
The Phoenicia Reconstruction Endeavors:
In addition to our ongoing search for Zarahemla, the Phoenician Expedition, led by Philip Beale, stands as a captivating testament to the enduring legacy of ancient civilizations. As we meticulously reconstruct the Phoenicia ship in Montrose, Iowa, we bridge the gap between our quest for Zarahemla and the exploration of ancient seafaring cultures, fostering a deeper understanding of the richness of ancient American human history.
How You Can Contribute:
