Construciton of The Ship

The legacy of the ship is remarkable. The original shipwreck came out of the mud in July 1996. French scholars spent four years and a million dollars to verify the significance and age of the shipwreck. Philip Beale made it his life's work to build and sail the ship replica. He got hundreds of museums, universities, governments, and volunteers. He sailed the square-rigged 2,600-year-old ship replica more than 30,000 miles, showing the transoceanic routes for Lehi and Mulek. His work involved two million dollars and thousands of man-days. Remember, he had a 12-man crew, and he was on the ocean for 700 days. What a legacy!
